Clients and Learners with a physical disability will be afforded opportunities within the restraints of that disability and all efforts will be made to enable them to achieve their full potential.

Special arrangements will be made to meet the needs of Clients and Learners who have visual impairment or a specific learning difficulty. In such cases, written documentation may be produced in Font size 16 in bold with no justification, and/or Clients and Learners may be provided with a Scribe to undertake their written assignments. Such special arrangements will take into account issues of confidentiality and the need for assignments to be the Client's own work/ideas.

Client Responsibility

It will be the responsibility of the individual Client to undertake the following:

Induction and Management of Clients and Learners

After a Client has been accepted by the Company, s/he will be invited to an initial meeting with the Co-ordinator/Assessor. At this meeting Clients and Learners will be given the opportunity to meet each other and to establish a network which will sustain Clients and Learners throughout their period of study. There will be an introductory talk about the course, when Clients and Learners will be given full information about the background to the qualification, the requirements of themselves, and reassurance about the level of support they can expect to receive. Resources will be distributed and there will be a question and answer session. The atmosphere will be as informal as possible to provide a pleasant and supportive beginning to what should be an enjoyable experience for each Client. A suggested date for submission of the first assignment will be negotiated, and a date agreed for the next meeting. A database of Client names and contact details will be established and all Clients and Learners who agree will be given access to this database for the purpose of sustaining the support network. Regular seminars/tutorial sessions will be held approximately every 6 weeks to give Clients and Learners maximum support from the Co-ordinator and from each other. Clients and Learners will be encouraged to contact the Co-ordinator by telephone or email at any reasonable time within the 6-week period, if they are in need of support.
